Report From North Dakota Highway Patrol, Captain Niewind

Jamestown, ND (KCSi T.V. News)  —  On August 22nd, 2012 at approximately 4:45 pm, a NDHP Trooper located a reported reckless driver traveling eastbound on I-94. 

 The vehicle was a silver, 1999 Hyundai Sonnata, which was reported by other motorists as traveling at a high rate of speed and weaving on the road way from the ditch to the median of the eastbound roadway. 

When located by the trooper, the vehicle was traveling 95 mph and weaving across the entire roadway. 

The trooper followed the reckless driver with emergency lights activated for approximately 6 miles (from MM 327 to MM 333), at which time the driver and lone occupant of the was involved in a crash.

 The vehicle left the roadway and entered the south ditch of I-94 crossing through a wire fence and striking a guardrail on the frontage road that runs parallel to I-94 near MM 333. 

 The vehicle came to rest in the south ditch facing south.

 The driver appeared to be under the influence of alcohol and narcotics.

 The driver, 39 year old Karen Goodall, from Jamestown, ND, was transported to Essentia Hospital for minor injuries.

 Ms. Goodall was arrested on scene for Driving Under the Influence. 

Other pending charges include:  Driving Under Revocation, Possession of Marijuana and Unlawful Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.
