Jamestown ND (KCSi-T.V. News Sept 12, 2013) — The North Dakota Highway Patrol has released the names of those involved in a one vehicle rollover accident Wednesday evening about 9:40- p.m., near Spiritwood, that claimed the life of a Jamestown man.
The report says a 1972 Ford pickup driven by 48 year old Leon Skjeret of Jamestown was northbound on Stutsman County Road 62 en route from Spiritwood, to Wimbledon. The vehicle dropped off the east edge of the roadway and the driver over-corrected losing control of the vehicle. The vehicle slid sideways across the roadway and entered the west ditch. The vehicle overturned several times in the west ditch.
Both Skjeret and passenger, 24 year old Harmony Olafson of Jamestown were not seat belted and were ejected from the vehicle. Skjeret was pronounced dead at the scene. Olafson was injured and taken to Jamestown Regional Medical Center by ambulance for non life threatening injuries.
The Stutsman County Sheriff’s Office assisted at the scene.
The crash is under investigation by the NDHP.
