Jamestown, ND (KCSi-T.V. News) — The Jamestown Branch of the American Association of University Women (AAUW) will host the 23rd Jamestown Garden Tour, Wednesday July 18, 2012, from 5-p.m., to 8-p.m.
On Thursday’s Wayne Byers Show on CSi Cable 2, spokesperson Kelly Krien said featured gardens this year include:
Paul & Kim Lunde, at 1605 7th Avenue Southeast, which features a garden cottage in the yard.
The tour also takes in the garden next door at 1601 7th Avenue, Southeast, belonging to John Zvirovski. Also on the tour are the gardens of Frank & DeAnn Schumacher, at 233 23rd Avenue, Northeast, and the garden of John & Brenda Weron, including a vegetable garden, at 3540 6th Avenue, Northwest.
Ms. Krein added, during the tour hours, visitors may also stop at the Jamestown Arts Center for refreshments, and to view the current exhibit. They may also create a tile, which will be fired in the kiln, and become part of a community piece to be installed in the Arts Park, in downtown Jamestown. A drawing for door prizes will be held at the end of the tour, for those who turn in their tickets, at the last tour location, or at the Arts Center.
Advance tickets are now available at $8 at…the Arts Center, Country Gardens Floral, Don’s Garden Shop on Business Loop East and Don’s House of Flowers at their 7th Avenue Southeast, and Buffalo Mall locations, Lloyd’s Toyota, and the Garden Gate. Tickets the day of the tour are $10 and after 4-p.m. that day, may only be purchased at the Arts Center, or at each site during the tour hours.
Proceeds to toward the Jamestown Branch of the AAUW, endowment at Jamestown College, used for scholarships for Other Than Average female students, along with the AAUW National Foundation, and the Legal Advocacy Fund.
