Thomas “Brian” Lindsay, 68, of Jamestown, ND, passed away early Sunday morning, September 17, 2023, at his home.
Thomas “Brian” Lindsay, son of Thomas W. and Darlene (Shell) Lindsay, was born in Wayne, Nebraska on December 7, 1954. The family moved to Dodge Center, MN and then to Sioux Falls, SD where he spent a majority of his school years. The family moved to Jamestown, ND, where he spent his senior year. After graduation he attended auto mechanic trade school in Sioux Falls before returning to Jamestown where he met and married Kathie Rosenau. They had 48 wonderful years together and raised their son, Troy.
Brian loved to cook and worked as a Country Kitchen in Sioux Falls. After moving to Jamestown, he managed a Phillips 66 gas station for a few years before starting work at Western Gear (UTC) for 35 years. After leaving UTC, he was assistant manager for a short time at TSC before retiring. He was amazing at solving any type of auto, mechanical or handy-man problem that came up.
He was secretary-treasurer of the Jamestown Men’s Bowling Association for a time and spent many years bowling several nights a week with his friends.
Brian loved to fish; hunting was his real passion. There were always numerous hunting stories to reminisce and laugh about with his friends and family. He loved shooting clay pigeons and target practice with his grandchildren. He was meticulous at keeping his shop in organized condition. He loved working on and maintaining their property. Brian has an amazing collection of Minneapolis Moline tractors and memorabilia, a tribute to his father who worked for Minneapolis Moline for many years.
His eyes always glowed whenever he was around his grandchildren. He loved to take them for rides in his tractors, side by side and spend every minute he could with them and the family.
Brian is survived by his wife, Kathie; son, Troy (Katie); and his grandchildren, Jack, Isabelle, Thomas and Harlen; his brother, Brad (Judi) Lindsay; and brothers-in-law, Rick (Tamera) and Kevin (Deb) Rosenau; along with several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and grandparents.
Memorial Service – 2:00 p.m., Thursday, September 21, 2023 at St. John’s Lutheran Church, Jamestown.
