Minneapolis – Minnesota United and Major League Soccer announced today the full schedule for the 2024 MLS season.

MNUFC opens its eighth season in MLS on the road against Austin FC on Saturday, February 24 before coming home to host the 2023 MLS Cup Champions, Columbus Crew, in the 2024 home opener at Allianz Field on Saturday, March 2. Minnesota last faced the Crew in the 2023 Leagues Cup Round of 32 match that saw the Loons advance to the next round on penalties following a thrilling 3-3 draw.

Additional key matchups in 2024 include:

  • Charlotte FC: MNUFC travels to face the Eastern Conference opponent for the first time in club history on Saturday, April 20 at Bank of America Stadium.
  • St. Louis CITY SC: The Loons will wrap up the 2024 MLS season hosting the 2023 expansion side on Decision Day, October 19 at Allianz Field. MNUFC faces St. Louis on the road on September 14.
  • Eastern Conference: In addition to Columbus and Charlotte FC, Minnesota will face five other Eastern Conference opponents in 2024 including: Orlando City SC, Philadelphia Union, Atlanta United FC, D.C. United and FC Cincinnati.
  • Sporting Kansas City: The “Nicest Rivalry in Sports” will feature three games in 2024, with the first matchup taking place on April 27 at Allianz Field. The Loons also host SKC on June 1 before traveling to Children’s Mercy Park on September 21.

Minnesota United will have two nationally televised games in 2024 featuring Western Conference opponents Los Angeles FC on Wednesday, May 29 (FS1) and Seattle Sounders on Saturday, August 24 (FOX).

Single-game tickets for 2024 season will go on sale to the general public in early February, with Season Ticket Members, members of The Preserve, and other club insiders receiving first access through a series of exclusive presales.

Leagues Cup Break
The World Cup-style club competition featuring all LIGA MX and Major League Soccer teams is set to return for its 2024 edition. Kicking off Friday, July 26 with the tournament final on Sunday, August 25, 2024, the official Concacaf tournament will maintain its three berths to Concacaf Champions Cup, with the Leagues Cup champion qualifying directly to the Round of 16. In 2023, the tournament featured 77 intense matches, capturing the hearts of nearly 1.3 million fans in the stadiums with an average attendance of approximately 17,000 fans per match. The competition was intensified by an action-packed format which saw an average of 3.26 goals per match.

Fans in more than 100 countries and regions can tune in to all the Leagues Cup action on MLS Season Pass on Apple TV. TelevisaUnivision, TV Azteca, FOX Sports, TSN and RDS will broadcast select Leagues Cup matches in Canada, Mexico, and the United States.

MLS All-Star Game 2024 presented by Target New Date: July 24 in Columbus, Ohio

The 2024 MLS All-Star Game presented by Target, hosted in Columbus, Ohio at Lower.com Field, is now set for Wednesday, July 24 (MLS Season Pass on Apple TV).

The action-packed week will bring world-class soccer events, music, interactive fan experiences, and community-focused events to Columbus. The opponent for the 2024 MLS All-Star Game presented by Target will be announced at a later date.

MLS Decision Day 2024

Decision Day 2024 – the final matchday of the MLS regular season with postseason implications on the line – is set for Saturday, October 19. The slate of 14 matches will feature all Eastern Conference matches kicking off at 6 p.m. ET and all Western Conference matches beginning at 9 p.m. ET, respectively on MLS Season Pass on Apple TV.

Across both conferences ahead of Decision Day 2023, a total of 10 teams were in the hunt for the final five postseason positions, while those in the playoffs were looking to clinch either homefield advantage or the final Concacaf Champions Cup spot.

2024 Schedule Format

Every team will play 34 regular season games, with 17 at home and 17 away. The majority of matches in 2024 will be played on Saturdays and select Wednesdays, with local start times of 7:30 p.m.

  • Eastern Conference (15 Clubs): Eastern Conference clubs will play each Eastern Conference opponent twice (28 games), once at home and once away. In addition, Eastern Conference teams will play six matches against select Western Conference opponents (6 games).
  • Western Conference (14 Clubs): Western Conference teams will play each Western Conference opponent twice (26 games), once at home and once away, and additionally will play one or two intra-conference opponents a third time (1-2 games). Western Conference teams will play six to seven matches against teams in the Eastern Conference (6-7 games).
