Jamestown, ND – On January 8th at 12:13pm the Jamestown Fire Department was dispatched to the Jamestown Reservoir for a snowmobile that broke through the ice. The accident occurred on the reservoir, 1/2 Mile South of 30th Street SE.

Two fishermen, Skylar Schmeichel and Shane Weiss heard the snowmobile and then nothing. The fishermen went out and found Cody Deese where his snowmobiler went into the water. The fishermen laid across the ice and used jackets as a rope to reach out to Deese and pulled him out of the water. Once on stronger Ice, Deese was transported by Jamestown Ambulance to JRMC. Deese refused treatment at Jamestown Regional Medical Center and walked out of the hospital on his own.
