Jamestown, ND (KCSi-T.V News Jul 7, 2012) – – Shortly after the conclusion of the White Cloud Parade, 10:50am, a 5 vehicle pile-up occurred on 1st South & 7th St (in front of Dominos), sending 1 person to the hospital.
From the Police Report: Four cars were stopped in the right hand driving lane of the 700 block of 1st Avenue South waiting for traffic to clear.
A Hanson Tire Service truck driven by Zachary Stiem, Jamestown, was traveling south on the 700 block of 1st Ave South, observed a vehicle stopped in front of him, applied the brakes too late and struck a car driven by David Hennings of Coon Rapids, Minn. The Hennings vehicle was pushed forward into the back of van driven by Kara Paiement, Jamestown, pushing the Paiement vehicle into the rear of a vehicle driven by Darwin Roeske, rural Jamestown. The Roeske vehicle then was pushed forward into the rear of pickup driven by Kenneth Larson, Jamestown.
The Hennings car suffered extensive damages to the rear and front. The occupants remained in the car until the ambulance arrived and removed Brenda Hennings to a stretcher and then to the waiting ambulance. Several of the occupants of other vehicles complained of neck or neck & back pain, but refused transport by ambulance and ssid they would see their own doctor.
The operator of the truck was issued a citation for following another vehicle too closely.
