On March 16 at 16:47pm, the Jamestown Fire Department was called out to 1614 5 1/2 half street NE for a house involved in a fire. The garage was fully engulfed, with the fire working it’s way across the rafters.

JFD responded with 4 fire trucks, and 17 fire fighters. The fire department was on scene for 4hrs. No one was at home at the time of the fire.

On March 19 at 5:22am the house had started burning again. This time the fire department brought down the ceiling in the house along with the roof.

Fire Chief Reuther believes the cause of the fire was started outside the garage.

On March 17, at 9:16am the Jamestown Fired Department was called to the baler. The leaf pile at the enterance was on fire. City employees with a payloader had broken down the burning pile so the fire department could quickly extinguish the fire. Fire Units were on scene for 2.5 hours with 20 fire Fighters on hand.
