On April 8th, at approximately 9:40 am, a two-vehicle injury crash occurred approximately six miles south of Horace at the intersection of Cass County Road 17 and 18.

A 2024 Chevrolet Silverado 3500 was southbound on Co. Rd. 17 when it approached the intersection of Co. Rd. 18. A 2017 Chevrolet Traverse was westbound on Co. Rd. 18 and the driver, Kostrzewski, failed to stop at the stop sign.

The Traverse entered the intersection into the path of the Silverado. The driver of the Silverado, Albright, took evasive action by steering right to avoid a collision.
The front left of the Silverado struck the front right of the Traverse. After the collision, the Silverado entered the ditch in the southwest corner of the intersection and rolled onto its passenger side. The goose neck trailer stayed attached to the Silverado, but the mini excavator became partially detached from the trailer.

The Traverse was forced into the southeast ditch at the intersection, where it remained upright.
The three occupants in the Traverse were all transported by Kindred Ambulance to Essentia Hospital in Fargo for non-life-threatening injuries. The two occupants of the Silverado were treated on scene by 1st responders and were not transported.

The crash remains under investigation by the NDHP. The names of the juveniles will not be released.
