On April 30, 2024, around 11:55am, ND Highway Patrol attempted to stop a vehicle for speeding on I-94 near milepost 271 in Stutsman County. The driver of the 2004 Honda Accord continued to flee at high speeds towards Jamestown. The driver, Chance T. Standridge, 27, of Mandan, ND, exited I-94 at Bloom (exit 262) and continued to flee at high speeds. Prior to entering the city of Jamestown, the ND Highway Patrol Trooper discontinued pursuit.

Chance continued to flee into the City of Jamestown at high speeds where he was involved in a property crash near the railroad tracks on of 3rd St & 12th Ave SE. The vehicle struck was a 2002 Chevrolet Astro driven by Ricky Haugen, 65, of Jamestown. Ricky was not injured in the crash. Chance fled the scene of the property crash at high speeds driving through Jamestown.

The Jamestown Police Department was able to locate Chance and take him into custody near the 1500 block of 4th Avenue NW in Jamestown. He was booked into the Stutsman County Correctional Center in Jamestown. Chance was arrested and charged with the following:
 -Fleeing a police officer in a motor vehicle
 -Reckless endangerment extreme indifference
 -Leaving the scene of a crash involving damage
 -Careless driving
 -Driving under suspension (DUS)
 -No liability insurance
 -Outstanding warrants:
o Carrying a concealed firearm or dangerous weapon

o Possession of a controlled substance
o Possession of drug paraphernaliax2
o DUSx2
o Probation revocation
