Bismarck –  Two University of Jamestown women’s volleyball players were chosen as North Star Athletic Association players of the week, the conference office announced on Monday.

Aleah Zieske was named Attacker of the Week and Ellie Holen was voted as Defender of the Week.

Zieske averaged 5.1 kills per set as the No. 2 ranked Jimmies went 3-0 in the North Star/Frontier Volleyball Crossover Tournament in Billings, Mont.  She had 18 kills (6.0 kills per set) and eight digs in a sweep over Rocky Mountain (Mont.), then followed with 15 kills (5.0 kills per set) and three blocks in another 3-0 sweep over No. 13 ranked Providence (Mont.).  She finished the tournament with a double-double of 13 kills (4.3 kills per set) and 11 digs in UJ’s 3-0 victory over No. 19 Montana Western.  For the week, Zieske accumulated 46 kills, 26 digs (2.9 digs per set), five blocks, and three service aces.

Holen racked up 67 digs to help UJ to a 3-0 record in the North Star/Frontier Crossover Volleyball Tournament in Billings, Mont.  She had 25 digs (8.3 digs per set) in a 3-0 sweep over Rocky Mountain (Mont.) and added 19 digs (6.3 digs per set) in 3-0 victory over 13th ranked Providence (Mont.).  She closed the tournament with 23 more digs (7.7 digs per set) in 3-0 victory over No. 19 Montana Western.  For the week, Holen averaged 7.4 digs per set for the Jimmies.  She posted a perfect reception rate in 24 receptions, added 12 set assists, and three service aces.
