The funeral service for Kim Homan, age 72, of Casselton, ND, will be 2 pm Monday, November 4, 2024, at Faith Lutheran Church, Valley City, North Dakota. Visitation will be one hour before the service at the church. He passed away October 28, under the care of Hospice of the Red River Valley.
Kim LaVern Homan was born May 10, 1952, in Valley City, North Dakota, to LaVern and Audrey (Faust) Homan. He grew up on the family farm west of Valley City, where he farmed for many years.
He graduated from North Central of Barnes and received a business degree from Valley City State College. Kim then started Homan Feed and Seed which he owned and operated for several years until its close.
Kim was united in marriage to Lynette Sowden in Valley City on September 14, 1990. His business involvement with ag sales led them to move around the state, eventually settling in Casselton.
After retirement Kim worked on his creation of Rough Rider Horse Water Fountains, manufacturing and selling them.
Kim enjoyed camping, fishing, traveling, gardening, and following the NDSU Bison.
Kim is survived by his wife Lynette, son Brandon Homan, and the family dog Nyx, all of Casselton; two step-sons, Todd (Steph) Blom of Tower City, North Dakota and Cory (Bridget) Buck of Valley City; six grandchildren, and one great grandchild with a second on the way; two sisters, Lee Ann (Ron) Peterson and Cheryl Peterson, all of Valley City.
He is preceded in death by his parents and brother-in-law Wes Peterson.
