Sara was born on October 2, 1978, in Albany, Oregon, to Marianne and David E. Williams, who adopted Sara as his own. She was the youngest of three sisters, Lisa and Teresa Hartl. In 1984, the family moved to Valley City, North Dakota, where Sara attended elementary and high school.

From a young age, Sara found her calling as a caretaker, working as a CNA throughout high school. She pursued her passion for nursing at Northwest Tech College, earning her LPN. In 2000, she married her first husband, Jason Oestern, and together, they had two sons, Jaden and Callen. In 2003, Sara met Dana Leick, who became her best friend and soulmate, and welcomed his daughter, Ciara, into her heart and family.

Sara continued her education, receiving her associate RN from MSCTC. She and Dana were blessed with two more children, Jacob, in 2006 and Addison in 2008. Throughout her nursing career, Sara worked at Sanford Fargo, Mercy Hospital in Valley City, and Mercy Home Health, where she was cherished by coworkers, patients, and their families for her selflessness and compassion.

In 2012, a life-changing accident during surgery ended Sara’s nursing career, but she continued to be a source of comfort and care for her family. She was a devoted wife and mother, always putting her loved ones first. Sara was also a proud grandmother to Brexten and Arya, who brought immense joy to her life.

Sara had a passion for arts and crafts and loved reading. She was known for her warm and loving nature, always having snacks and candy ready for her kids. Sara also had a deep love for animals, caring for dogs, cats, guinea pigs, hamsters, a lizard, a bunny, and other pets. She volunteered at the humane society in Jamestown, a cause close to her heart that she hoped to continue supporting. Sara always had an encouraging word to keep everyone going. Her legacy of love and care will live on in the hearts of those who knew her.

Sara is survived by her husband, Dana Leick; her children, Jaden Oestern, Callen Oestern, Ciara (Landon) Becker, Jacob Leick, and Addison Leick; her grandchildren, Brexten and Arya Becker; her sisters, Lisa (Matt) Malone, and Teresa Hartl; her parents, Marianne and David E. Williams; and nieces and nephews.

Sara is preceded in death by her grandparents James and Nelda McClung, Howard and Lorraine Williams, and her uncle Gerald Williams.
