Linda was born on December 4th, 1957 at Trinity Hospital in Jamestown, North Dakota. She was the youngest child of Alvin and Darlene (Britzman) Berndt. She attended the Our Savior’s Lutheran School and later graduated from Jamestown High School in 1976.
She was the mother of three children – William, Cody and Sarah, each born on the 15th day of their birth month! Anyone who knew Linda knew that she was always immensely proud of each of her children and willing to do anything for them.
Linda was a dedicated public servant who worked for the state of North Dakota for over 40 years in various roles at the State Hospital, mostly the overnight shift, and retiring from the Human Service Center in 2019. She met many great friends at work over the years.
Linda was known for being dedicated to her family. She was never too busy for time with her grandchildren. Her custom birthday cakes were revered by all who saw them. Later in life, Linda spent much of her time in the Wimbledon/Courtenay area. She enjoyed raising chickens, had a soft heart for good cats, decorating for all holidays, and was the ultimate thrifter. She loved gardening, enjoyed reading, and could knit just about anything.
She is survived by her husband, Tony; her children William Mickelson, Cody (Emma) Mickelson, and Sarah Mickelson; her seven grandchildren, Quintin, Felicity, Melody, Kyrie, Sora, Otto, and Lola; her siblings Susan (Arthur) Dodds, Nancy (Joe) Martinez, and Gerald Berndt; and her many nieces and nephews, and family friends Rich and Laurie Podoll.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Alvin and Darlene.
Celebration of Life Service will be held at 11:00 AM, Friday, January 10, 2025 at Eddy Funeral Home in Jamestown, ND with Pastor Bryce Tahran officiating. Burial will take place at a later date.
