Jamestown, ND (KCSi-T.V. News Oct 7, 2013) — Jamestown Mayor Katie Andersen says the Jamestown City Council will meet in Special Session Wednesday (Oct 9, 2013) at City Hall, to discuss economic indicators in Jamestown.
On Monday’s (Oct 7, 2013) Wayne Byers Show on CSi 2, the Mayor said the meeting will address “retail leakage,” or, how to retain retail business in Jamestown. Areas of discussion is scheduled to include:
- Receiving information relative to certain economic indicators in the Jamestown Trade Area;
- Possible discussion concerning information received relative to certain economic indicators;
- Possible discussion relative to a business concern indicating potential location in the Jamestown Trade Area.
The Mayor added that it’s possible that the City Council may enter into Executive Session to discuss certain proprietary information relative to a potential business locating into the Jamestown Trade Area.
The Mayor also said the City of Jamestown will be updating and replacing traffic control signals on 10th Street Southeast at the intersections of 1st Avenue, 4th Avenue and 7th Avenue Southeast, with the parts to be used to update the traffic signals on 1st Avenue.
She said with the upcoming completion of the city’s Land Use and Transportation Plan, further recommendations may be made on the 1st Avenue traffic signals.
With the Jamestown Sanitary Sewer Project, Mayor Andersen said the project is on schedule. She noted that with access to the MGM mobile home area, crews are working to have the work done there within about two days.
