Jamestown – The North Dakota Department of Transportation (NDDOT), in cooperation with Asphalt Surface Technologies, will begin a microsurfacing project on Hwy 20 from 1st Avenue N to 12th Avenue NE in Jamestown on Monday, August 11, with expected completion by Saturday, August 16, weather permitting.

Project Overview
The project involves applying a microsurfacing treatment to extend the life of the existing pavement and improve surface smoothness. Work will take place along Hwy 20 from 1st Ave N to 12th Ave NE, with lane closures occurring in the following segments:
• 1st Ave N to 5th Ave NE:
o This segment is a two-lane, two-way roadway, and traffic will be controlled by flaggers and/or a pilot car during microsurfacing operations.
o Motorists will take turns using a single lane to travel through the work zone.
o Short traffic delays are expected.
• 5th Ave NE to 12th Ave NE:
o This segment is a four-lane, two-way roadway, and lane closures will be in place.
o Traffic control devices and Flaggers will direct motorists through the work zone.

Parking Restrictions
Street parking will be prohibited during microsurfacing operations along the entire project corridor. Affected residents and businesses are asked to move vehicles off the street to avoid delays and ensure a smooth construction process.

Motorist Impacts
• Short-term delays are expected, particularly in the 1st Ave N to 5th Ave NE segment due to alternating one-lane traffic.
• Drivers are advised to allow extra time, follow all posted signage, and use caution when traveling through the work zone.
• Flaggers, pilot cars, and signage will be used to manage traffic and ensure safety for workers and the traveling public.
