Jamestown (CSI) – At approximately 8:55 p.m. on Thursday, September 11, the Jamestown Fire Department, led by Fire Captain Sheldon Mohr, responded to a fire at the University of Jamestown.

The fire began in the old building currently being torn down near the campus kitchen area. Crews worked for five hours to bring the blaze under control. A total of 19 firefighters and five vehicles were dispatched to the scene.

Two firefighters sustained minor injuries while battling the fire. Additionally, there was minor water damage reported to the nearby Badal Nufus building.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
