Iowa City IA – The North Dakota State women’s golf team held its position to finish in seventh place at the Diane Thomason Invitational on Tuesday afternoon at Finkbine Golf Course.
Madi Hicks (74-79-75—228) was the top Bison for the round and the tournament. Hicks was +3 on the day and shot one birdie and 13 holes at par over the final 18 holes. Hicks finished just outside of the top 15, landing in 16th place with a final score of +12.
Cora Larson (83-72-75—230) shot 13 consecutive holes at par in the final round to finish +3 for the round. Larson climbed another 14 spots up the leaderboard to finish in a tie for 21st place at +14.
Norah Roberts (75-75-83—227) finished +11 in the final round to finish in 36th place at +17. Hannah Dunk (78-76-81—235) was just behind at +19 overall in a tie for 43rd place after recording +9 in the final round.
Avery Bartels (83-80-77—240) carded her best round of the event at +5 and climbed seven slots to finish in a tie for 66th place at +24. Jeri Lafleche (80-84-80—244), who played as an individual, matched her best round of +8 and climbed four spots to finish in a tie for 74th place at +28.
As a team, the Bison (310-302-308—920) finished seventh out of 16 teams at +56. Iowa (296-303-290—889) took their home tournament title at +25, with Montana State (293-300-301—894) in second. Southern Mississippi (308-297-301—906) and South Dakota (296-306-304—906) tied for third.

The Bison will return to action at the Kansas State Powercat on October 20-21. The tournament will take place at Colbert Hills Golf Course in Manhattan, Kansas.
