The Valley City State University Drama Club invites the community to attend its upcoming production of Selfie, a short dramedy written by Bradley Hayward. Performances will take place November 20 and 21 at 7:30 pm, with a matinee showing on November 22 at 2:30 pm in the Vangstad Auditorium.
Selfie follows a group of high school seniors navigating the pressures of their final year facing bullies, parents, illness, and their own self-doubt as they prepare for life beyond graduation. Through humor and heartfelt moments, the story explores how today’s youth define themselves in a world dominated by social media and constant self-documentation. As they share their stories one snapshot at a time, the characters come to realize that life is not about how others see them, but about the images they hold of themselves.
Admission is free for VCSU students, staff, and children age five and under. Tickets are $3 for students and seniors, and $5 for adults.
The VCSU Drama Club welcomes everyone to attend and support local theatre while enjoying a production that reflects the challenges and hopes of a new generation.
