The 2nd ACT & the Arts Center Jamestown invites the community to enjoy a delightful night of comedy, cuisine, and live theater with its upcoming production, The Kitchen Witches. This fast-paced and hilarious dinner theater experience promises sharp wit, big laughs, and memorable characters.
Showtimes are scheduled for Friday, January 23 at 6:00 pm as a Dinner Theater performance, and Saturday, January 24 with two options. A matinee performance will be held at 2:00 pm with no meal served, followed by a Dinner Theater performance at 6:00 pm.
Dinner theater tickets are $35, with a discounted price of $28 for Arts Center members.
The Kitchen Witches centers on Isobel Lomax and Dolly Biddle, two “mature” cable-access cooking show hostesses who have despised each other for more than thirty years. Their feud began when Larry Biddle dated one woman and married the other, and the rivalry has only intensified with time. When circumstances force them together on a television show called The Kitchen Witches, sparks fly and insults are tossed with more enthusiasm than the food itself.
Dolly’s long-suffering son, Stephen, serves as the show’s producer and does his best to keep the chaos under control. Unfortunately, with Dolly’s dressing room placed just one inch closer to the set than Isobel’s, peace is impossible. What follows is a wildly entertaining disaster that turns into a ratings sensation, surpassing even Martha Stewart and Jerry Springer.
Whether you attend for the meal, the comedy, or both, this production is sure to deliver an evening filled with laughter and fun. Tickets are expected to be popular, so theatergoers are encouraged to plan ahead and join The Arts Center Jamestown for this entertaining winter event.
