Jamestown ND (valley News Live) – A 19-year-old Jamestown woman faces a felony charge after police say she had sexual contact with a 14-year-old boy.
Valerie Rae Mann was charged Tuesday with gross sexual imposition, according to court documents filed in Stutsman County District Court.
Police were called around 11:48 p.m. Tuesday after a mother reported catching Mann with her 14-year-old son, according to a probable cause statement filed by Jamestown Police.
The woman told police her 17-year-old son came home from work and found Mann and the 14-year-old in a bedroom. The 14-year-old admitted to police that he and Mann were having sex when they were caught, court documents state.
Mann admitted to police she had unprotected sex with the teen in the bedroom, estimating they had been having sex for about five minutes before being caught, according to court documents. She told police the encounter started in the living room and led to her bedroom, and that both were willing participants.
The 14-year-old told police he and Mann had sex on about six occasions since Jan. 1, court documents state. Mann denied having any other sexual encounters with the teen.
Court documents indicate Mann had been living with the family since around July 2025. The family had previously been foster parents for Mann when she was younger.
Mann was arrested and made her initial court appearance Wednesday. A preliminary hearing is scheduled for February 4.
