Elaine Timm, 82 of Jamestown ND, died Monday, February 16th at Edgewood Memory Care Jamestown after a long battle with dementia.

Elaine was born April 26, 1943 in Jamestown, ND to Harry & Alda (Kienast) Helmstetler. She grew up on the family farm near Kensal and graduated from Kensal High School in 1961. After graduation, she went to beauty school and became a hairdresser. This was something she very much enjoyed and continued to give the occasional hair cut up until she entered assisted living.

She married Leon Timm in 1964. They made their home south of Kensal where they farmed and raised cattle. Elaine truly loved the farm life. She was always ready to step in and help wherever she was needed. Their sons Todd & Rory completed their family, and she became an avid fan of any activity they were a part of. There were countless hours cheering on their teams whether it be a baseball game or sitting in the bleachers at their basketball games. Their uniforms were always washed and ready for the next game. She often talked fondly about those memories and of the friendships she formed with the mothers of their teammates. Elaine’s own sport of choice was bowling. For many years, she and Leon bowled on a couples’ league. After his passing, she continued to bowl and enjoy those friendships they had made over the years.

Elaine’s hobby she was most known for was floral arranging. She had a way of looking at flowers and turning them into the most beautiful bouquets. Over the years, she added the most gorgeous floral arrangements to many wedding celebrations.

Her hometown of Kensal was very important to her and throughout the years she served on the Café Board, Cemetery Board & Church Boards.

Elaine is survived by her sons Todd (Kamy) Timm, Kensal; Rory Timm, Jamestown. Grandsons Jake Timm (Brooke Topp) & Cooper Timm all of Kensal. Brothers Jim Helmstetler, Arizona; Charlie (Linda) Helmstetler, Colorado; George (Diane) Helmstetler, Arizona. Special friend Donna Lipetzky. Many nieces, nephews & cousins.

She is preceded in death by her husband Leon, parents Harry & Alda Helmstetler & parents-in-law Leo & Anna Timm.

The family requests any Memorials be made to Kensal Cemetery.
