Judith “Judy” Kay (Wahl) Grieb, Columbia, SD, formerly of Jamestown, ND passed away Sunday, March 8, 2026 at Avera St. Lukes Hospital, Aberdeen, SD.

Judith was born in Upham, ND on July 16, 1943 to Alice (Ahner) and Adolf Wahl. Growing up on a farm meant chores and responsibilities which she instilled into her children.

Judy graduated from high school in Upham, ND in May of 1961. Judy went on to Minot Business College graduating in 1962 with a Junior Accounting Degree.

Judy worked at Trinity Hospital in Minot, ND in the accounting department, moved to Rugby, ND to work as a bookkeeper at The Parts Service Store.

In March of 1974 she married. From the marriage came her three children Jennifer, John, and Angela. She encouraged her children to take part in many different activities such as sports, piano, band, and orchestra. Attending as many events as she could to support them.

During the marriage a trucking business was started. Judy was dispatcher, bookkeeper, and peacemaker between drivers and elevators. In 1998, Judy began her job at Easter Seals/Goodwill in Jamestown, ND.

Following her retirement, she moved to Oakes, ND where she enjoyed visiting with friends and her flower garden she planted and cared for. She later moved to Aberdeen, SD where she met new friends and one special friend Shirley. In 2023, Judy moved to Columbia, SD to live with her daughter Angela. Where she enjoyed walks in the park, planting flowers to enjoy throughout the summer, sitting on the patio watching birds, squirrels, helping with barbecues, and baking cookies during the holidays for her family.

Judy is survived by her daughter Jennifer (Shane) Davis, Cottage Grove, MN, and granddaughters Samantha and Kaitlyn Davis, daughter Angela Grieb, Columbia, SD; siblings Marlan (Carol) Wahl, Larry Wahl, Jan Wahl, Terry (Ellene) Wahl, Jackie (Tom) Vetter; sister-in-law Shirley Wahl; cousin Rodney (Colleen) Wahl, and many nieces and nephews.

Judy was preceded in death by her son John Grieb, parents Adolf and Alice Wahl, sisters Marlene, Joanne and brother Allen.

Graveside service will be 11:00 AM, Saturday, May 16, 2026 at Sunset Memorial Gardens, Jamestown, ND. A reception will follow at the Baymont Hotel.
