Grace E. Diede, 86, of Jamestown, ND, passed away on the evening of Wednesday, March 18, 2026 at SMP Health-Ave Maria, Jamestown.

Grace was born in Jamestown, ND, April 17, 1939, to Mae Sara (Vanwinkle) Kracht and Otto Kracht. She spent her early years in Pingree, ND, graduating from Pingree High School .

On July 22, 1960, Grace married Larry Diede at the Pingree Congregational Church. To this marriage three daughters and three sons were born and lovingly raised. Larry died October 13, 2020, in the midst of Covid-19. One daughter, Shelly Hillius, died in 2010.

Grace was a stay-at-home mom while also lovingly caring for customers at the Jamestown Truck Stop. She was also a member of the Ladies Auxiliary Legion.

She is survived by daughters, Sherry (Douglas) Sand and Lori (Kelly) Fast; sons, Ricky (fiance Vicky Gilbertson) Diede, Dean (Lanette Briss) Diede, and Scott (Vicky) Diede and one sister, Edith Zerface.

She was now reunited in death with her parents, husband, Larry; daughter, Shelly Hillius; siblings, Bertel Kracht, Bertha Kracht Gunderson, Bernard Kracht, Otta Kracht, Merle Kracht, Kenneth Kracht, Robert Kracht, and Peggy Reuther.

Funeral Services for Grace will be held at 2 PM, Wednesday, March 25, 2026 at Haut Funeral Home, 1101 5th Ave NE, Jamestown, ND with Pastor Bryce Tahran officiating. Burial will follow later in the spring at Highland Home Cemetery, Jamestown.
