Joseph Roehrich, age 79, died on June 6th surrounded by family at SMP Health – Ave Maria in Jamestown, ND.

Joseph “Little Joe” was born on March 13, 1947 to Joseph and Julia (Reis) Roehrich in Braddock, ND. He was raised on the family farm in Menoken. He met Maryann Emineth in Bismarck. They married in 1967 and had 7 children together, Thomas (Tom), Theresa, Marty, Monica, Joseph (Jay), Margaret, and Lenny. They made their family home in Sioux County where they founded the Wagon Wheel Ranch. In 1992 he married Diane Kensmoe and together they had Levi and resided in Tappen. In 2003 he married Dale Zaun, the one who he loved wholeheartedly until the end and they spent their time together fishing, camping, and hunting in Gackle.

Joe joined the Army voluntarily in 1970 where he fought in the Vietnam War in the 101st Airborne Rangers as a marksman, then moved into the motor pool working as a mechanic. He returned home to his family in late 1971 and soon after started trucking until he retired.

Joe truly embraced the farm lifestyle, a true lover of the outdoors, and enjoyed everything from guns to hunting, fishing, and camping. What really meant the world to him though was his family. He loved his children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren with his entire heart. He loved showing off pictures of them and bragging about what they had been doing. He loved telling stories, maybe you have heard the same one over and over, but he definitely made an impression on every person he met.
