Clifford D. Peterson, 70, of Valley City, North Dakota, died July 4, 2026, at SMP Health-St. Raphael, Valley City, ND.

Clifford was born September 18, 1955 the son of Dennis, Sr. and Frances (Gensburg) Peterson. He grew up and attended school in the Napoleon area; he later moved to Jamestown, ND, where he made his home.

He and Tammy Vande Hoven were married September 22, 1988 in Jamestown; they had one son, Clifford Jr.

Cliff is survived by his son; his mother; 3 siblings, Linda (Dallas) Gruebele, Valley City, ND; Dennis, Jr. (Brenda), Bismarck, ND; and Gary, Jamestown, ND; and numerous brother-in-laws and sister-in-laws.

He was preceded in death by his wife; father; brother, Vincent; niece, Shawn Gruebele; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Christ and Verna Vande Hoven
