Duane Dewey Earl Elhard, 91, of Jud, North Dakota, passed away on July 8, 2026.
Dewey was born on the family farm in Logan County, North Dakota, to Henry and Olinda (Kalmbach) Elhard. He was raised in the Jud area, where he attended school and spent his entire life.
In 1964, Dewey married Mary Ann Podoll. Together, they built a life in Jud, where they made their home and raised their family.
Dewey worked for LaMoure County for 26 years as a road grader operator until his retirement in 1997.
Dewey’s hobbies included fishing, hunting, woodworking, and spending countless hours mowing with his John Deere lawn mower.
Dewey is survived by his wife, Mary Ann; his children, Donny (Marcy) Elhard, Caroline (Steve) Limesand, and Wanda (Matt) Horner; his grandchildren, Blake Limesand, Wyatt Limesand, and Emma Horner; and his sister, Linda (Marlo) Quam.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Henry and Olinda Elhard, and his sisters, Delores (Bob) Sheppard, Florence (Duane) Schuldheisz, Jane (Gene) Babb, Mavis (Leon) Presser, Yvonne (Edwin) Mayer, and his brother, Gary (Carol) Elhard.
Service will be held at 2 PM, Saturday, July 18, 2026 at Haut Funeral Home, 1101 5th Ave. NE, Jamestown, ND.
