Jamestown (city) – Motorists are advised to plan for a long-term road closure on a portion of 24th Street SW as utility work gets underway in the area.

According to the City Engineer’s Office, the 400 and 500 blocks of 24th Street SW, from U.S. Highway 281 to the MAC’S/Paradiso area, closed beginning Tuesday, July 28, and are expected to remain closed until approximately Nov. 1, 2026, or until the project is completed.

Drivers are encouraged to use caution when traveling near the construction zone and to follow the posted detour routes throughout the duration of the project.

The City Engineer’s Office appreciates the public’s patience and cooperation while the utility improvements are completed.
