Vivian Biegler, 93, of Edgeley, ND, passed away Sunday evening, August 23, 2026 at Manor St. Joseph, Edgeley.

Vivan was born October 24, 1932, near Jud, ND, the daughter of John and Ella (Drenth) Kalmbach. She attended country schools and graduated from Jud High School. Vivian attended college in Ellendale and Fargo before attaining her teaching degree from Valley City State University. She taught school at Diesem and Ray townships and met Herman Biegler while teaching in Wano township.

She married Herman Biegler on June 10, 1957 at the Church of the Transfiguration, Edgeley. They built their farmstead ¼ mile west of the family farm where they operated a dairy and grain farm. Vivian enjoyed the life of a farm-wife where she milked cows, raised chickens, had a big vegetable garden with lots of flowers, took care of our home and raised and instilled a good work-ethic & strong faith in her 5 children. She went back to teaching at Nortonville. Vivian was an excellent seamstress and made many clothes for her family. They moved into Edgeley in November 2011 where their home has been since. Herman died on March 13, 2012.

Mom spent her last 7 years in the Loving care of Manor St Joseph.  The staff and loving care she received there we are forever grateful for.

Vivian is survived by her son, Steve (Alexa) Biegler, Edgeley, ND; four daughters, Pam (Keith) Schrader, Edgeley, Michelle Bollinger, Edgeley, Teresa (Scott) Hollingsworth, Edgeley, and Lori (Dave) Link, Altamont Springs, FL; 12 grandchildren; 24 great grandchildren; and 1 sister, Nelda Schlosser.

She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Ella Kalmbach; husband, Herman Biegler; son-in-law, Gene Bollinger; sister, Diane Sparks; brother, Egar Kalmbach; and numerous brother and sisters-in-law.

Mass of Christian Burial: 11:00 a.m., Saturday, August 29, 2026 at the Transfiguration Catholic Church, Edgeley.

Visitation – 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., Friday, August 28, 2026 at Transfiguration Catholic Church, Edgeley.

Prayer Service: 7:00 p.m., Friday, August 28, 2026 at Transfiguration Catholic Church, Edgeley.

Interment – Mt. Calvary Cemetery, Edgeley.
