On Saturday, two lifts of asphalt were laid on 2nd St SW,  in front of Historic Franklin.    2nd Street SW has been closed for a month during installation of new sewer force main.   A small portion of 2nd St east of the bridge remains unpaved, as additional work is needed.  The portion from 3rd Ave SW to 4th Ave SW is expected to open as early as Tuesday.   Saturday pictures by Roy Sheppard.

On Friday Oct 18, sections of steel pipe were being welded on 3rd Av SW in preparation to be installed under the Burlington Northern tracks.  Friday pipe photos by Thomas Ravely

The nearly block long pipe will be placed under the tracks, and the new force main will be installed inside the steel casing.  That should occur during the next week, weather permitting.
