Cecelia Margaret Wadeson, 82, Fingal, ND passed away on September 6, 2026, at Sanford Hospital in Fargo, ND surrounded by her family after several courageous battles with multiple health issues.

Cecelia was born on June 30, 1944, at the home of her father and mother, John C. and Alice (Sherman) Puhr on a farm near Fingal, ND. She grew up raising small grains and livestock. She graduated from Fingal High School in 1962.

On January 14, 1966, Cecelia married Loren Jay Wadeson at Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Fingal. Cecelia worked at Green Valley Laundry in Valley City, Fargo Paint & Glass in Fargo, and Maple Valley Meats in Enderlin. Cecelia and Jay lived and farmed near Alice, ND, where they raised livestock and small grains. She was an instrumental part of the daily farming operations, but her greatest joy was raising her family.

Cecelia enjoyed gardening, being proud of the flowers in her yard as well as canning fruits and vegetables from her garden. She also, enjoyed shooting pool, bowling, gambling, playing cards and Bingo with her friends and family. Her loyalty and unwavering commitment to her family was constantly displayed, putting the needs of others before her own. A prime example was delivering noon meals to the crew and making home cooked meals when they returned in the evening.

Cecelia especially enjoyed spending time with her kids and grandkids and was so proud of all of them. Taking small vacations and attending all their sporting events for so many years brought her so much joy. Her mother and father, brothers, sisters, nieces, and nephews were also very important to her. Cecelia always needed to know what everyone’s plans were and loved sharing what her family was up to. She enjoyed fishing and taking pictures of the boys and grandkids’ deer, birds, and everything else they brought home.

Cecelia was a devoted member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church and St. Anne’s Christian Mother’s Homemakers club. She held her faith very close to her, was very spiritual, and was involved in many church activities. She opened her home to all with her kitchen table being a special gathering place. She was the sweetest and kindest soul anyone could ever know and will be deeply missed by her family, friends, and all who knew her.

Cecelia is survived by her husband, Jay, of 60 years, her sons: Joey (Rochelle), West Fargo, ND, Jeffery (Jodi), Enderlin, ND, Jamie “Amos” (Michelle), Argusville, ND, Anthony (Holly), Mandan, ND, and Timothy (Danielle), Embden, ND; her 14 Grandchildren: Saree, Mika, & Jetton Wadeson, Kashden & Karsyn Wadeson, Brook (Aaron) Dean, Carter, & Cody Wadeson, Elijah, Noah, & Annika Wadeson, and Carter Savey, Aliviah & Isaac Wadeson; 2 Sisters: Mary Ann Ritter of Hatley, WI and Elizabeth Storbakken of Enderlin, ND; and 2 Brothers: Steve (Melody) Puhr of Fingal, ND and Paul Puhr of Embden, ND, and many nieces and nephews.

Cecelia was preceded in death by her parents: John C. and Alice (Sherman) Puhr, 1 Sister: Genevieve, and 2 Brothers: Jack & Norby Puhr.

Visitation will be held at Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Fingal, ND, on Thursday, September 10 from 6-7 PM with the Rosary being prayed at 7 and a Prayer Service to follow. Funeral Service will be on Friday, September 11 at 11:00 AM at Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Fingal, ND. Father Scott Karnik will officiate. Burial will be held at the Alice Community Cemetery in Alice, ND. The service will be live streamed, then archived, on a link provided along with her obituary on her tribute page at www.lerudmathias.com. An online guestbook is available there as well. Traditions Funeral Services of Valley City has been entrusted with handling the arrangements for the Wadeson family.

All monetary gifts given to the family in memory of Cecelia will be gifted to Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Fingal, ND.
