Jamestown, ND (CSi) – A notice to email users, in the last few days, there has been an increase in “phishing emails”, asking you to click on a link to go to a new “portal” to log-in to update your email account. DON’T!
It is a scam. You will notice the from email address may say from @gmail.com or other random domain, not from the folks that provide your email.
They are “phishing” trying to get your user name and password, so they can use it for not so good purposes . . . a scam.
In our case, our csicable.net email was moving the message to the spam filter if set properly, but it was still not something you want to click on.
When an email looks fishy, it is most likely “phishing” for your information. Just delete the message.
