VALLEY CITY, N.D. (AP Oct 26, 2013) — A man who was carrying a knife and two swords when he was arrested for cutting up a bathroom wall in a Valley City restaurant has been sentenced to five days in jail.

 Authorities say 32-year-old Jon Henry Lightning, of Grand Forks, had the weapons hidden in his clothing when he was apprehended for the incident last week.

 The Grand Forks Herald reports that Lightning pleaded guilty to criminal mischief.

 Valley City police were called to Johnny’s Pizza about 6 p.m. Tuesday on a report that the bathroom had been vandalized. Lightning was arrested at the nearby VFW club.

Valley City, ND (KCSi-T.V. News Oct 24, 2013) — Valley City Police report, a Grand Forks man was arrested, accused of vandalizing a restroom inside Jimmy’s Pizza Tuesday night about 6p.m.

Police Chief Fred Thompson says officers arrested 32-year-old Jon Henry Lightning a short time later at the VFW Club for carrying a concealed weapon and criminal mischief.

Police removed two swords and a dagger that Lightning allegedly hid under his clothing.

Thompson says at least one of the bladed swords was used to poke a hole in the sheetrock and to slice other parts of the wall.

He says the incident remains under investigation.
