NDHPpatchJamestown, ND (KCSi-T.V. News Oct 26, 2013)  —  The North Dakota Highway Patrol Reports a semi, SUV accident Saturday morning about 3:45 a.m. on Highway 281, 3 miles south of Edgeley injured one person.

The report says a Kenworth pulling a trailer operated by 43 year old Shane Apple, of Comanche, Oklahoma  was southbound at 65 miles per hour.   A Cadillac Escalade driven by 21 year old Chelsey Bitz of Edgeley was northbound at an unknown speed. 

The swerving motion of  the SUV caused Apple to slow and steer to the right side of the southbound lane.  Bitz vehicle swerved into the southbound lane and crashed into semi, that stopped on the southbound shoulder of the road.  Bitz SUV came to rest in the west ditch.

Bitz was transported to the Jamestown Regional Medical Center.  Apple was wearing a seat belt.

Bitz was not using restraints.      

The crash remains under investigation. 

Assisting at the scene were, Edgeley Fire and Rescue, and the LaMoure County Sheriff’s Office.
