Valley City, ND (CSi) — Valley City police reports, a second suspect has been arrested in connection with one of several late September Valley City church burglaries.25 year old Andrew Miklas of Valley City was detained near Hillsboro on Thursday night.

Miklas is being held at Cass County Jail, charged with criminal conspiracy to commit burglary in Barnes County and possession of stolen property in Traill County. All charges are Class C felonies.

Miklas will be sent to Traill County first, then to Barnes County.

Miklas’ original arrest warrant from Valley City police was for charges of burglary, which is a felony, and theft of property, a misdemeanor.

Valley City police issued arrest warrants October 30th, for Miklas and 18 year old Nicole Lindermann, of Kathryn, in connection with a burglary at Faith Lutheran Church, in Valley City.

Lindermann turned herself in October 30, 2013 and was released from the Barnes County Jail on a $4,000 unsecured appearance bond.

Miklas and Linderman were arrested Thursday night, after Hillsboro Police received a call about two suspicious people staying at the Hillsboro Inn. The vehicle the people had arrived in was stolen out of Hannaford and matched the description of a vehicle used in a burglary in Aneta.

A second vehicle was found stolen out of Casselton.

Miklas and Lindermann were arrested for possession of stolen property, resisting arrest and outstanding warrants for burglary.

Lindermann is being held in the Cass County Jail, charged with possession of a stolen vehicle.

Miklas is being held at the Cass County Jail on charges of criminal conspiracy to commit burglary in Barnes County and possession of stolen property in Traill County, Class C felonies,

A series of church burglaries happened during the weekend of September 28 and 29 this year. Trinity Lutheran Church, Our Savior’s Lutheran Church and the Congregational Church of Christ were burglarized that weekend, along with Faith Lutheran. The Valley City Public Library was also burglarized that weekend.

Valley City police have said the church burglaries appear to be related, based on observations at the scenes.

It is unclear if the church burglaries are related to an arson fire at Faith Lutheran Church Oct. 21. The fire caused about $2.2 million in damage and is under investigation by Valley City police and state and federal investigators.
