BISMARCK, N.D. (AP) — North Dakota’s Game and Fish Department is working with nearly two dozen landowners in 17 hunting units who want to host antlerless deer hunters this fall.
The department says the landowners have 230 openings for doe hunters. The program is not intended for buck hunters, but designed to direct hunters with antlerless licenses to specific areas to reduce deer populations.
Hunters who want to be considered for the program can get more information on the Game and Fish website at http://www.gf.nd.gov .
North Dakota’s 2012 regular deer gun season runs from Nov. 9-25. The archery season is Aug. 31 through next Jan. 6; the youth season is Sept. 14-23; and the muzzleloader season is Nov. 30 through Dec. 16.
