KCSI TV 10 – Jamestown, ND.  In an online news conference Sept 13, 2012,  Blue Cross Blue Shield of North Dakota announced they are the “Official Sponsor of Recess”.   Their first efforts are targeted at school-age children.   BCBS-ND President & CEO Paul von Ebers responding to a question said, ” we are spending dollars to improve the health of North Dakotans which will result in reducing health care costs…”

Recess YES! is a wellness initiative sponsored by Blue Cross Blue Shield of North Dakota that promotes daily activity for all North Dakotans. Increased physical activity – which is linked to improved cognitive performance and mental well-being as well as improved behavior – supports learning. We want to help you bring the benefits of physical activity into your classroom!
