MINOT, N.D. (AP) – The color green is returning to the greens
and fairways of the old Minot Country Club after suffering severe
flood damage in the spring of 2011.
When floodwaters finally receded, fairways were turned to layers of silt
and high water killed the grass on fairways, greens and tee boxes.
More than 550 trees and shrubs have been removed.
Sale of the club was approved at a stockholders meeting in late
June, when a group of private investors purchased it under the new
name “28 Club.”
The purchase price was not revealed, but an independent
valuation listed the flooded property as worth $800,000.
Greenskeeper Bruce Ruppert says a new sprinkler system has been
installed to help the growth of new grass.
