Council Sets Public Hearing – UJ MIDA Bond Request

Jamestown ND (CSi) The Jamestown City Council met in Special Session Tuesday evening at City Hall.  All members were present.

A Public Hearing was held concerning Seal Coat, Patching, Construction and Reconstruction District #14-41 and protests and the sufficiency thereof.

Follow the Public Hearing it was determined that the protests have been found to be insufficient to bar proceeding with Seal Coat, Patching, Construction and Reconstruction District #14-41.

The City Council, approved and authorized awarding the bid for Seal Coat, Patching, Construction and Reconstruction District #14-41 to Border States Paving, Inc., in the amount of $1,338,839.50.  Below the engineer’s estimate.

The City Council scheduled a public hearing relating to a project under the Municipal Industrial Development Act requested by the University of Jamestown for a planned project of dorm renovations and to pay down existing debts.

The City of Jamestown is unable to support the request, and the MIDA bonds will be issued through the City of Medina. Both cities need to concur on the action.
