Jamestown (CSi)  The 7th Annual Running Of The Pink was held Saturday June 7, 2014, at R.M. Stoudt in Jamestown.   Proceeds go to help fund breast and cervical cancer screening through the local Women’s Way Resource Fund, and the Jamestown Regional Medical Center Foundation.

According to RM Stoudt, roughly $7,690 were raised for both organizations

Results were as follows:

Women’s 5K Run – 1st Brandy Scheerr 20:446,   2nd Tess Scott 21:10,   3rd Ligia Schulz 22:02

Men’s 5K Run –  1st Shawn Scherr 18:50,   2nd Leo Fremgen 18:58,   3rd Steven Aesoph 19:49

Women’s 10K Run –  1st Samantha Wieland 47:17,   2nd Stephanie Jensen 48:04,  3rd Maria Kellam 48:07

Men’s 10K Run –  1st Jeremy Sorenson 39:43,   2nd Joseph Jenson 41:35,   3rd Seth Jansen 42:31.

On a recent Wayne Byers Show on CSi Cable 2, R.M. Stoudt’s Tara Kapp said the first year of the event there were about 20 participants.

It has grown over the years with 400 participants in 2013, during inclement weather.  This year it’s hoped that 500 or more will participate.

She encourages teams to set up competitions with other teams.

The event also draws families, family reunions, and those who honor loved ones by participating.

She added that all proceeds raised stay for local support  in Jamestown.
