Valley City, ND (KCSi-T.V. News) — Valley City Epworth United Methodist Women’s Annual Bazaar and Luncheon fundraiser for missions will be held October 6 at 680 8th Ave SW.

Helen Noeske, said, Barb Young is leading the group effort to provide a pleasant Apple Harvest Saturday for the community with a tasty luncheon and craft sale.

Craft shopping hours are from 10:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. UMW will serve the luncheon from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at tables decorated with apple delights that will be sold from the tables.

Bazaars are known for their specialties. Gift Baskets have become Epworth’s trademark. Down the hall it’s classrooms become Epworth’s “treasure trove” shops of adorable, reasonable, and useful gifts and foods for sale.

To mention just a few of the “finds” to be discovered – Handcrafted doll beds with storage (3 sizes with bedskirt, sheet, pillow, and comforter to provide comfort for Barbies and dolls). Children’s travel pillows. Attractive velvet lined ribbon headbands. Children’s activity bags. Scarves. Fleece ponchos. An abundant supply of lefse. Also a Bakery, and the popular dish cloths, Etc.

Members have prepared an ultimate, special basket of useful, neat, and familiar items pertaining to this theme of Apple Harvest. To be gifted to a lucky person. Each one who buys a ticket for the luncheon may put their name and phone number on it for a drawing.

Heavenly Creations, Epworth’s 2011 Collection of Recipes, contains the recipes for this year’s luncheon menu and will be available for sale.

The luncheon menu includes a chicken tortilla wrap and choice of Lasagna Soup or White Chili. The menu will also include a choice of Apple Crisp or Pumpkin Squares, which are cozy old time favorite desserts that are beloved by generations.

Barb Young, chairperson, and Bev Enger, Epworth’s UMW president, assure men and women will appreciate the reasonable prices and good quality ($7 luncheon) that will enable the women to help support local missions such as Salvation Army, Faith and Action, Barnes County Food Pantry, and Valley City’s Abused Persons Outreach Center as well as national and world missions.

With the recent addition to Epworth, space will accommodate the bazaar more handily than ever. There are no steps and the parking lot is large.

After you have finished shopping you can leave your “stash” at the “Park and Shop” before going to the luncheon in the dining room. Carry out services are available also.
