BRECKENRIDGE, Minn. (AP) – Police have identified a body found in the Red River near Breckenridge as Andrew Sadek, a 20-year-old college student from Rogers who has been missing since the beginning of May.

Sadek left his dorm at the North Dakota State College of Science the in the early morning of May 1. Authorities had searched for the student for several days in May.

The Wilkin County Sheriff’s Office says the North Dakota Department of Pathology identified Sadek Saturday. The cause of death is still under investigation.

Authorities issued an arrest warrant charging Sadek with two counts of delivery of a controlled substance shortly after his disappearance. Investigators had kept the warrant secret because they didn’t want to hamper their search.

WAHPETON, N.D. (AP) – The parents of a missing North Dakota State College of Science student say they’ve hired a private investigator because the police investigation has gone cold.

Twenty-year-old Andrew Sadek left his dorm on May 1 and hasn’t been seen since. Authorities days later issued an arrest warrant charging Sadek with two counts of delivery of a controlled substance.

Sadek’s parents say they believe their son is alive, but scared. The Sadeks say they didn’t know their son was under investigation in a drug case.

Officials searched for Sadek in early May for several days but found no clues to explain his disappearance.
