Valley City (CSi) The latest edition of the Valley City Area Chamber of Commerce Newsletter, included a letter to Mayor Werkhoven of Valley City to express the individual’s recent experience in the city, after attending Business After Hours at the Rosebud the Thursday night before Rally In The Valley Weekend.
She pointed out Valley City’s “Flavor of small town America of days gone past.”
She submitted the following letter to Mayor Werkhoven:
Mr. Mayor,
I stopped at the Valley City exit to get gas when traveling on 94 East. I had been traveling for hours so I thought I’d take a moment and drive through your city. You don’t find many towns or cities that are ecstatically appealing to the eye, but your city is exception to the rule. I was impressed with the cleanliness an organization your city presented. I noticed a venue where a car show was taking place and food was being prepared, so I stopped to view the cars and eat. To my surprise the food was FREE. I needed to wash my truck so I inquired with one of the ladies in your town and she gave me directions to one of the car washes. I had fully intended to drive further but was tired so I went to the Wagon Wheel Inn and checked in at a discounted price. This morning I went down to the gas station and got a cup of coffee. I went to the counter to pay for it and the attendant said (it’s on the house). Because of the treatment of your citizens thus far and the appeal of your city I’m going to stay an extra day to enjoy all the activities schedule for this weekend. You and your staff should be proud that Valley City hasn’t lost the flavor of small town America of days gone past.
