Jamestown (CSi) Jamestown Police report a 38-year-old Jamestown man has been charged with burglary and theft of property after he over the past two years, allegedly took silver bullion, coins and cash from at least two homes in Jamestown homes
Chad Lee Gourneau, 714 9th Avenue, Southeast made his initial appearance in Southeast District Court Thursday before Judge John Greenwood.
Gourneau faced charges of burglary, a Class B felony, and theft of property, a Class B misdemeanor. He is currently free on bond.
Court documents, indicate that on March 10 and June 7 Gourneau allegedly took items from homes when he was working for a local service business.
Police have recovered items that Gourneau allegedly took.
The investigation uncovered additional items that did not come from those homes,
recovering silver bullion that doesn’t belong to the victims in the current case.
A preliminary hearing has not yet been scheduled.
The maximum penalty for a Class B felony is 10 years in prison and a $20,000 fine. For a Class B misdemeanor the maximum penalty is 30 days in jail and a $1,500 fine.
