DRAKE, N.D. (AP) – The North Dakota Highway Patrol has identified a Texan man who was struck and killed on U.S. Highway 52 near Drake.
Authorities are still looking for the driver of a semitrailer who is alleged to have hit 51-year-old Carlos Price, of Houston.
The patrol says Price was walking along the highway about 2:30 a.m. Wednesday after the vehicle he and a woman were in went off the road and became submerged in water. The woman was not injured.
The patrol says the semi left the scene after hitting Price, who was struck by a maroon or red 2007 Volvo semi-truck as he walking along the highway around 2:30 a.m. to find help.
Orluck says the man and a woman were driving down Highway 14 and didn’t stop at the intersection of Highway 52. Their car went off the road and became submerged in water.
Police know the characteristics of the semi that was headed west because of considerable debris that was left behind on the highway.
Any information on the semi-truck driver should be relayed to State Radio at 701-328-9921.
