GameFishJamestown (CSi) Officials with the North Dakota Game and Fish Department report that a survey of local waters found that the James River at Klaus Park had three silver carp and one netted.

The female fish was 28.8 inches long and weighed 11.7 pounds. Further lab analysis of the fish was planned.

Earlier, last month four were located with three caught, at Klaus Park.

The recent survey at Pipestem Creek below Pipestem Dam did not produce any silver carp.

Game and Fish Department District Fisheies Supervisor, Gene Van Eeckhout, says 10 silver carp have been caught in the upper James River since 2011.

The department will continue to collect and monitor the species in the river, to try to determine if the species is reproducing.
