Bismarck (CSi ) North Dakota-based engineering firm KLJ is expanding to Florida.
In a statement officials said KLJ is opening an office in Lake Worth, Florida, to specialize in hydrogeological services and provide comprehensive water supply, water management and well water-system consulting to the area.
It is the firm’s first office outside the Upper Midwest, headquartered in Bismarck but started in Dickinson in 1938 as Viegel Consulting Engineering.
The firm changed its name to Kadrmas, Lee and Jackson in 1984.
It has 23 office locations in North Dakota, South Dakota, Montana, Minnesota and Wyoming.
In 2014, KLJ was recognized as one of the Top 500 Design Firms by Engineering News Record for its 2013 performance, and the firm has won regional and national engineering awards.
