Jamestown (CSi) The 117th Stutsman County Fair, for 2014 showed an increase in attendance over 2013, by 23 percent.
Stutsman County Fair Board President, Mike Williams says this year’s attendance was put at 32,775, including the paid gate total, including children entering, along with fair workers, and exhibitors.
Officials say a change this year to the Murphy Brothers Exposition, back from a 20 year absence, from the Mighty Thomas Carnival in recent years was a reason for the increase.
Stutsman County Extension Service Agent, Christina Rittenbach says 4-H entries at this year’s fair, totaled about 1,055. There were about 598 livestock entries, as neither figure includes the drops.
Next year, the fair in Jamestown will be July 1st through the 4th, with the firework show on Saturday the 4th and marks the end of the fair.
