DiscoverLogoBrownJamestown (CSi) The Jamestown Tourism Board of Directors, Monday, began developing its three-year strategic plan, to go into effect on January 1, 2015.

Goals and strategies are being set.

The first goal is to promote and market the “Discover Jamestown” brand by incorporating the new brand into existing marketing materials and exploring additional ways to utilize the brand.

Another strategy will create policies and procedures to respond to trademark infractions on the new brand.

The second goal is to enhance and grow camping and outdoor recreation in Jamestown and surrounding areas, by identifying partners to help grow and develop local and regional camping and to explore additional possibilities for outdoor recreational partnerships.

The third goal is to expand the knowledge of the stories of Jamestown and surrounding areas, accomplished by collecting and documenting comprehensive stories about the various landmarks and people of interest with connections to Jamestown and surrounding areas.

Jamestown Tourism is aiming to be a source for local and regional tourism entities for additional resources, training and operational assistance, by educating other tourism entities about additional funding and/or grant opportunities, and to be a source of information and to share strategies for best practices of tourist sites.
