StutsheriffJamestown (CSi) The Stutsman County Sheriff’s Office reports, an 18 year old  female driver of a pickup, from Valley City, lost her life in the one vehicle rollover accident, about 1:38-a.m., Satrurday. The accident happened at 1:38 a.m. on a gravel road five miles west and one and a half miles north of Pingree.

Authorities say Miranda Stephens lost control of the pickup  after swerving to avoid hitting a deer that ran onto the road. The truck entered the ditch and rolled over.

She was ejected and pronounced dead at the scene.

A 19-year-old male passenger,  Isaac Valenta, was taken by Jamestown Area Ambulance to the Jamestown Regional Medical Center with nonlife-threatening injuries.

Jamestown City Fire Chief Jim Reuther says the Jamestown Fire Department was called to the scene for an extrication.

The accident remains under investigation. The North Dakota Highway Patrol, assisted at the scene.
